Need a Lathe? Tight Budget? This is very rudimentary but will work.

A horizontal holder was made for a 12-volt Hobby Drill, so it could be used as a very rudimentary lathe, Figure A & B. Note; the two spring clips used were taken from a cylindrical fuel tank for a model boat.

As an alternative to a mini lathe, this is a practical alternative to shaping small items with a relatively soft material composition. A craft knife is supported to act as a ‘tool’ as shown in Figure C.
